Come Learn From Doug McDonald and Other Healthcare IT Experts at Extreme Connect

Bring your Healthcare IT and networking challenges to Extreme Connect this April and you’ll be guaranteed to return home with solutions. We’ve set aside three hours at our global user conference just to share your healthcare topics, roadblocks, and unique solutions with other IT leaders from the healthcare industry. The final discussion topics are up to you. We’ll be collecting suggestions both before and during the conference to be prioritized by the healthcare industry group on site.

The birds of a feather (BoF) sessions, organized by industry and facilitated by IT industry leaders, are planned for Friday, the last day of the conference. We’ll have sessions not just for healthcare, but also education, transportation/retail, and venues/hospitality. As registrations continue, additional sessions to accommodate other industries may be added.

During the healthcare BoF, you’ll hear short presentations of recent challenges and solutions from a select set of participants. Let us know if you’d like to share a 5-10 minute overview about a challenge you are currently facing. The group will also delve into common hurdles like dealing with medical device safety; complying with HIPAA, PCI, and GDPR; providing clinical grade BYOD; defending against ransomware; and insuring interoperability with other network vendors’ gear.

The healthcare BoF, is just one of the sessions you’ll want to participate in at Extreme Connect. There’s also a session on Designing for and Supporting the Smart Hospital, with Rob Hale of Novant and Chuck Brooks of Extreme Networks. This session gives a look at networking for the smart hospital, including software, security, compliance, and medical IoT. It will use real-world experiences to dive into lessons learned and best practices, especially dealing with medical devices on the network. Other sessions will provide in-depth, advanced technical insight into campus core and edge, network and application analytics, cloud-based management, as well as data center, fabric, wireless technologies.

There are plenty of other reasons to register now for Extreme Connect 2018. You’ll hear from network industry analysts with Gartner, ESG, and ZK Research, and you’ll meet Extreme executives and product experts eager to discuss your specific network environment. If you’re not in the healthcare industry, there still may be a BoF session for you and lots of opportunity to compare notes with your industry peers.
