Extreme’s Acquisition of Avaya Networking Strengthens Position in the Federal Government Vertical

Bob Gault Chief Revenue and Services Officer Publicado 5 May 2024

As we close in on the completion of our acquisition of Avaya, we’ve already constructed a strategic roadmap that will serve the interests of both existing and new Extreme customers and partners. We’re particularly excited about the new opportunities coming our way within the federal government, which will be significantly strengthened with the close of this acquisition.

At Extreme, we have worked closely with federal and local government customers throughout the world – from Connecticut to Taiwan – to deliver the wired and wireless infrastructure needed to build the smart government infrastructure of the future. Now, as we enter this new chapter at Extreme, we are laser-focused on providing superior Quality of Experience (QoE) to our customers to continue differentiating our solutions from those of competitors.

As part of this strategy, we recently launched ExtremeManagement™ Center 8.0, which we designed specifically to improve QoE for our customers through a number of new features. EMC 8.0 includes a new analytics dashboard that optimizes workflows and integrates with Extreme’s Information Governance Engine (IGE) to automatically assess and secure network configurations across an entire infrastructure.

We’ve officially entered into an agreement with immixGroup, Inc., the premier company for hosting contract vehicles and helping technology companies do business within the government. Through this partnership, immixGroup enables federal, state, and local government agencies to purchase Extreme’s software-driven, end-to-end, wired and wireless networking solutions via the GSA Schedule 70 contract vehicle (GSA) This will allow for simplified purchasing of both Avaya and Extreme solutions by a wider set of organizations within the public sector.

These updates are just the first of many exciting opportunities coming to Extreme in the next year. We look forward to expanding our presence in the federal government sector and continuing to deliver solutions that cut costs, simplify network management and support technology-driven initiatives throughout some of the largest organizations in the world.
