We’re counting down the days to one of the flagship events in the global tech calendar. From 6th-10th October, Dubai World Trade Centre hosts GITEX Technology Week, ‘the biggest tech show in the Middle East, North Africa & South Asia’. Now in its 39th year, GITEX is a show that never fails to astound me by its sheer size, vibrancy and wealth of ideas and innovation.
Extreme Networks will be exhibiting for the duration of the conference in the ‘Network Infrastructure & Security Hall’. We have a packed schedule of on-stand demos, on-booth presentations taking place daily, and of course lots and lots of meetings!
GITEX 2019 is always an exciting proposition. But this year it feels like there is even more to be energised about than ever before.
Firstly, it’s a pleasure to have Maan Al-Shakarchi on-board and joining us just in time for GITEX 2019. Maan recently became regional director of the MEA region at Extreme Networks, with responsibility for Turkey, the Levant countries, Middle East and Africa. Maan is a seasoned professional in the enterprise networking sector, most recently leading EMEA and APAC sales team at AVAYA. Maan’s mandate is to accelerate the company’s growth in the MEA markets by helping customers to transform their digital transformation through software-driven networking solutions. GITEX 2019 is the perfect place to start that journey.
Secondly, following our game-changing acquisition of Aerohive Networks we’re ready and raring to start exploring all of the opportunities created by this recent addition to the Extreme Networks proposition. The acquisition of Aerohive sees Extreme double its coverage in terms of customers and partners, increase our density in regions outside of North America (such as MEA) and grow our footprint amongst enterprise organisations. Extreme Networks is poised to disrupt the sector with an end-to-end platform that sits at the intersection of network, security and cloud. This has the potential to turbo-charge enterprise digital transformation.
And that leads perfectly to my final point. At Extreme Networks we believe this is the era of the Autonomous Enterprise Autonomous Enterprise – connecting humans to technology via smarter networks to achieve next-generation outcomes. We need to start replacing the restrictive, error-prone networks of today and relieving the overburdened IT teams tasked with “finding and fixing” problems. Instead IT teams can get to work delivering digital transformation strategies that are ‘empowering and enabling people and connections’ within their organisations. And this is under-pinned by an autonomous network, which is self-driving and self-healing, empowering businesses of the future.
If you’re heading to GITEX 2019, please do come and see us on our booth SR-E1 in the Network Infrastructure and Security Hall. If you’re interested in understanding how your organisation could make the shift to becoming an Autonomous Enterprise then visit our GITEX website to book an appointment.
