Want to learn more?

Here are 4 Can’t-Miss Parts for Sports & Public Venue Reps Attending Extreme Connect ’19

1. The Educational Breakouts and Training Seminars

Extreme Connect provides an excellent opportunity to boost your networking skillsets in an engaging forum with industry peers.  There are a cross-section of pertinent technology sessions to choose from; for example, in our ‘Futures’ track – which explores forward-thinking trends already shaping the industry – be sure to check out Wi-Fi 6 Migration Strategies and Best Practices, where we’ll explore the technical benefits of newest Wi-Fi iteration, and discuss key considerations when planning your migration to 802.11ax.  A critical topic for sports and public venues, as these high-density environments, stand to gain compelling benefits from .11ax.

Speaking of benefits, for sports and venue reps seeking to generate another layer of intelligence from their existing Wi-Fi network should consider ‘Extracting More Value from Wi-Fi with Location Analytics’ in our ‘Technology Explained’ track, where a breakdown of emerging, location-based technologies will be covered.  To learn more about taking a customer-centric approach to Wi-Fi, to position more engaging activities in the future, should check out ‘Designing Retail and Hospitality Wireless for Customer Engagement’ session in our in ‘Verticals Track.’

General technology sessions and training courses are also available at Extreme Connect.  Perhaps you would like to better understand ExtremeAnalytics, the network performance and fan analytics platform currently in use by 28 of the 31 NFL teams.  Customers can also roll up their sleeves and dig into deep dive technical sessions, where we’ll expand your knowledge of products like ExtremeMobility (for high-density environments), ExtremeSwitching, and Extreme Management Center.  Best practices that can be directly utilized in your networking environment.

2. The Demo Hall and the Sports & Public Venues Technology Showcase

When you aren’t attending a session or a tech deep-dives at Extreme Connect, the demo hall is a perfect area to stop by and explore, maybe while enjoying a snack or a beverage.  There will be several technologies and product-specific demo stations that span across Extreme’s portfolio, allowing you to choose the solutions that most interest you or that you would like to better understand, to support your future IT networking goals.  Each demo station will have at least two Extreme specialists to deliver an overview of the technology or answer any questions you may have.  This is your opportunity to tap our experts!

The demo hall will also feature industry-specific technology showcases, including a Sports & Public Venues demo station, where you can interact with members of our Sports & Public Venue business unit and engage with venue-specific solutions.  For example, check out Extreme’s industry-first Wi-Fi 6 access point, purposely-built for high-density environments like sports stadiums and arenas.  While there, as the Official Wi-Fi Solutions Provider of the NFL, you can see a live demo of Extreme’s cloud-based Wi-Fi analytics platform, specifically built for the NFL.  Not to mention, you can also enter to win a signed Marcus Mariota jersey, quarterback of the Tennessee Titans!

3. The Peer-to-Peer Collaborations & Networking Opportunities

On top of the compelling sessions and interactive technology showcases, Extreme Connect is also designed to create plenty of networking opportunities and collaborative activities with your peers, to include peers both in the Sports & Public Venues industry and outside of it.  You already know about some of the industry breakouts (cited above), but if you’re looking forward to sharing experiences, IT priorities, and lessons learned with peers in your industry make sure to attend the Sports & Hospitality ‘Birds of a Feather’ session on Thursday from 9 am – 12 pm local time.  This open, ‘roundtable-like’ forum is moderated by an Extreme Sports & Public Venue customer and will only involve an audience of peers; there is minimal (if not zero) vendor participation to ensure the dialogue is only driven by the topics you and your peers want to dig into.  There are a diverse cross-section of Sports & Public Venues peers already confirmed for Extreme Connect.

Outside of the planned networking opportunities and sessions, Connect has plenty of built-in social events and receptions, perfect opportunity to catch up with your peers in a casual setting.  It’s also a great way to meet Extreme customers outside of Sports & Public Venues, to learn about all the interest ways other industries are using networking solutions to accomplish their goals.

4. The City, the Venue, and of course, the Entertainment!

Outside of the informative deep-dives, technology showcases, and networking opportunities (which should already get you excited about attending), this year’s Connect agenda includes a ton of fun and entertaining activities, including:

    • Featured Guest Speaker: Wayne Gretzky, Former NHL Player and Hall of Fame Member
    • Evening Reception and Product Launch at the TN Titans’ Nissan Stadium
    • Block Party Event on Broadway Street
    • Nashville: one of the most lively, up-and-coming cities in the country!
